December 8th, 2022
Dear Neighbor,
In partnership with the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, I want to highlight this local organization that does incredible work in our community. Recently, I was lucky enough to tour their facility and see the tireless effort their leadership, warehouse managers, and volunteers do for the food insecure in Anne Arundel County.
After its inception in the 1980ās, the AACO Food Bank has been pursuing its mission to fight hunger by assuring that all those in need, especially children, have access to food and resources. Even through the pandemic, they were able to find a way to continue serving the community during a critical time. See below for an impact report on what they accomplished in 2022 alone.
But they need your help to keep their mission alive and provide for as many people as possible, Leah Paley, CEO, explains:
āAccording to the most recent data available, 74,440 working families in our County do not earn enough to cover their basic monthly household expenses. The Anne Arundel County Food Bank provides healthy, nourishing food to thousands of families experiencing food insecurity in our community. We are seeking support to meet the need.
Working together, we can ensure that everyone in Anne Arundel County has enough to eat. A gift today will help feed our neighbors this holiday season and throughout 2023.ā
During this holiday season, please consider donating to Anne Arundel County Food Bank in any way that you can. For more information on their organization, please visit their website HERE! A list of the food pantries they support can be found here.

Holiday Party Season is Upon Us!
Holiday party season is officially upon us! I had the pleasure of attending a few special events last weekend, including two that were especially important to me.
First, I got to celebrate Anne Arundel County Democrats and our historic success this past November at the District 30 Democratic Club holiday party! Thank you so much to all of the amazing volunteers that helped everyone get across the finish line, but a special thanks goes out to this yearās D30 award winners: Lois Kelberman, Spencer Jones & Nadine Chien.
My husband and I finished off the evening at the Buchanan House with the Superintendent of the US Naval Academy and Mrs. Buck.
Thank you to MIDN Action Group for collecting toys for āToys for Totsā which will be delivered to children in Anne Arundel County!
The Riveters, USNAās all-female a cappella group, was a highlight of the evening!
