Dear Anne Arundel County Democratic Central Committee,
With the utmost respect and admiration for Maryland State Delegate Dana C. Jones, I highly recommend Delegate Jones to succeed U.S. Congresswoman-elect Sarah K. Elfreth with the great honor to represent Maryland’s Legislative District 30 in the Maryland State Senate.
As our state is facing difficult budgetary times and great uncertainty from decisions of the incoming federal administration, Dana is the senator that District 30, Anne Arundel County and Maryland needs to help guide and selflessly serve our state in turbulent times.
During Dana’s tenure on the House Appropriations Committee, she has secured over $100 million dollars for District 30 which includes funding for schools, parks, community centers, waterways and critical infrastructure needs. As Vice-Chairwoman of the Health & Social Services Subcommittee in the Maryland House of Delegates, she has championed access to high quality healthcare for all, led with kindness in supporting our kids with food insecurity and fought for historic investments in education that leaves no student behind.
In addition to Dana being a fiscal leader, she is a compassionate leader who unites our diverse communities and strongly believes that hate has no place in our neighborhoods, counties, halls of the state legislature, nor anywhere in Maryland.
As Vice-Chair of the House Appropriations, I will greatly miss collaborating and learning from Dana in the Maryland House of Delegates. With much pride, I look forward to continuing my strong partnership with Dana as she serves in the Maryland State Senate!
Sincerely,
Mark S. Chang
Member, Maryland House of Delegates
District 32
