Today, I’m proud to announce my campaign for re-election to represent District 30A.
Since taking office, I’ve been laser-focused on delivering for our community, and I have the record to prove it. In just five years, I’ve passed 35 bills, including the landmark Freedom to Read Act - which prohibits book bans in Maryland libraries. I helped secure over $170 million in state funding for projects in our community, and helped lead Maryland’s Women’s Caucus to its most successful session in its 60-year history. And when Democratic values have been under attack, I’ve fought back—every time.
I believe Maryland families deserve a government that puts their needs first, one that makes life more affordable and improves opportunities for all. Communities deserve leaders who will advocate for every neighbor, especially those most at risk. I know families are feeling the squeeze. Groceries, housing, childcare, health care, and utility bills are up. As I serve you in the General Assembly, my promise continues to be driven by my steadfast commitment to promoting, fighting, and advocating for solutions to these needs.
The stakes are high. The relentless attacks from Trump and Congressional Republicans have made one thing clear: state leadership matters more than ever. 175,000 Marylanders are at risk of losing Medicaid, and 369,000 families are at risk of losing the ability to feed their families. As a trusted member in the House, and Vice Chair of the Health and Social Services Subcommittee, I’m uniquely positioned to protect care, strengthen the safety net, and make sure families can afford the essentials.
I’m extremely grateful for the support of our trailblazing Speaker of the House, Adrienne Jones: "Delegate Dana Jones has spent over half a decade working tirelessly for the residents of district 30A. During her time in the House she has stood up for our shared values by voting to enshrine women's healthcare protections in the Maryland Constitution, to reduce pollution in the Chesapeake Bay, and led efforts to protect our libraries and librarians from extremist book bans by passing the Freedom to Read Act. As we continue to protect our state from the uncertainty and chaos coming from Washington D.C., I know I can count on Delegate Jones's leadership to help us protect the most vulnerable Marylanders."
I’m running because I stand for action, and I stand for service. If you’re worried about rising costs, if you want a safer, fairer, more affordable Maryland, this campaign is for you. I am a proud Democrat - and I will continue to uphold Democratic values in the State House. Together, we’ll meet this moment, protect our values, and build a stronger future for every Marylander.
